MEGSI

GOALS

The MEGSI Program focuses on the advanced training of Information Systems Engineers and Managers, whose professional roles combine skills in information technology, information, and management.

It is also intended that MEGSI graduates are familiar with the Research and Development (R&D) process, to monitor the evolution of the body of knowledge in the area and to participate in its exploration and development, particularly in a context of practices based on empirical evidence.

MEGSI graduates must also demonstrate: a sense of responsibility and professional ethics; ability to learn and adapt to new situations; ability for analytical, synthetic, and critical thinking; creativity; self confidence; attention to the evolution of Information Technology and opportunities for their application; reflective attitude; and leadership posture.

The Engineering and Management of Information Systems professional functions can be carried out in any organization, regardless of its size (including small and medium-sized companies) or sector, as well as in Management Consulting and Information Systems and Technology companies.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

The MEGSI Program promotes the acquisition of skills in functions other than those developed during the first cycle degree (in Information Systems and Technology or in Informatics), as well as the deepening of those skills and initiation into R&D.

The learning outcomes focus on proficiency to use IT for the benefit of companies and society, encouraging the development of specialized skills to perform Engineering and Management of Information Systems professional functions, namely:
